Diary of a Fat Girl – Day 255
Richie and I made Eggplant Parmesan for dinner tonight, and I must say that I haven’t tasted anything like this before. Who knew eggplant could taste so good? Dr. Mike did, and he included this tasty recipe in his book.
Earlier, Richard and I enjoyed our first Keifer Smoothie. The plain Keifer (a drinkable yogurt) is very tart, and we added strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries to it. However, the berries didn’t tame the tartness of the yogurt, so we decided to try a packet of Truvia. It was a perfect combination. It sweetened the Keifer just enough to make it a digestible smoothie and not too much that you would gag by the sweetness.
As a certified sugar addict, the detoxification cycle of this diet is beginning to wear on me. Today I had a headache, and I told my husband I wanted a candy bar. Since I had barred him from having cream in his coffee, he found the perfect opportunity to exact his revenge. To make matters worse, every other show on the television was about sweets. There was Cake Boss, a show on ice cream, one about chocolate, and even one on candy.
In retaliation to the smirk on my husband’s face, I politely reminded him that we would be on this diet come Easter. Therefore, the peanut butter eggs he loves will not be allowed.
“What about all that candy we get from the family,” he asked, increasing his tone and pitch, making my head pound harder.
“I guess we’ll have to freeze it until we can have it,” I replied as I anxiously waited for the day when we could treat ourselves again.
I tried to find time for exercise today, but that didn’t happen. As I was about to climb the stairs for my weights, I remembered something I hadn’t done yet. When I found a moment for a 17-minute workout, it was several hours past bedtime, and I was too exhausted to care. Maybe I will work on that tomorrow.
I just want a damn cupcake!
